Education offer / access
Google’s current one-year student promotion excludes Canada. Gemini’s Canadian page says the previous offer has ended.
Eligibility + useful links
In eligible regions, the plan varies by country. Applicants must be 18+, verify student status, use a personal Google Account and provide a payment method. The plan renews at the paid price unless cancelled.

Education offer / access
Canada: verified university students can claim $100 in Codex usage credits. The separate four-month ChatGPT Plus student promotion is U.S. only.
Eligibility + useful links
Codex credits require current enrolment at a degree-granting university in Canada or the U.S., residence in either country and successful verification. They expire after 12 months and are not API credits or free Plus. The U.S. Plus offer closes October 31, 2026 and renews at the paid price; cancelling early forfeits remaining free periods.
Free tier availableGrok

Try Grok for research and ideas. Grok Bot is an option for the workshop’s delegated projects if your account includes it.
Education offer / access
No education discount verified on the current official pricing page. Basic Grok has a free tier; Grok Bot access is listed with SuperGrok.

The free tier has usage limits. Grok Bot is listed in the paid SuperGrok plan, so check your account’s tools before choosing a delegated project.
Student pricing + school accessMicrosoft Copilot
Put the AI where your Word, Excel and slides already live.
Use Copilot with the Microsoft tools James is demonstrating and the files you create during the workshop.
Education offer / access
Canada: eligible college and university students can save 50% on Microsoft 365 Personal, including Copilot features. Check your school’s existing access first.
Eligibility + useful links
Full- or part-time students at accredited institutions must verify higher-ed status. Use a personal Microsoft account; the paid subscription renews and requires periodic eligibility checks. Schools may provide free A1 web apps, but desktop apps and premium Copilot depend on the licence.

Education Pro offers a discounted paid plan for students and faculty who pass SheerID verification. Your institution and role must qualify.
